Consumerism in Health Care:
Strategic Implications
Session 1

Chris Mathews, vice president and health practice leader, Washington, D.C., The Segal Company

This session will focus on the key factors hospital leaders should consider when thinking about adding consumer-driven health plans to the employee benefits portfolio. Topics will include the financial impact of CDHPs, employee demographics and preferences, disease management programs and vendor selection.

Greg Morris, chief operating officer, national health care practice, Aon Corp.

Led by one of the original pioneers of consumer-driven health plans, this session will address how consumers evaluate hospitals and what to expect in the future. Participants will learn what types of health care data are available to consumers, the metrics and methods used to collect the data and how consumers access the information.
