Section 1: Training Program

Training Modules

The training consists of seven modules:
  • Module 1: Facts About U.S. Poison Centers
  • Module 2: Facts About Poisons
  • Module 3: Potential Poisons
  • Module 4: Who is at Risk of Poisoning
  • Module 5: How to Prevent Poisonings
  • Module 6: What to do in Case of a Poisoning
  • Module 7: Poison Prevention Educator Responsibilities

Time Commitment

  • This training is designed so that you can complete the modules at your own pace.
  • Each module will take approximately 5-10 minutes.
  • In order to progress to the next module, you must complete the full module and quiz.
  • You must complete the modules in the order they are presented.
  • The entire training (without viewing the additional resource links) should take approximately 30-60 minutes to complete.
  • Helpful links to web resources are included in each module.  A complete list of links can be found in the "Resources" section (under "Helpful Internet and Web Site Tools") at the completion of the training course.
  • Take your time and enjoy!
Quizzes
  • At the end of each module there will be a quiz consisting of three to five simple questions to test your knowledge on key points provided in that module.
  • After each quiz is completed, answers and further explanations will be provided.
  • You will be asked to retake a quiz if your score is less than 75 percent.
  • You can review the module by selecting the “back” button.
Progress Report
  • After you successfully complete each quiz, you will receive a Progress Report.
  • The Progress Report is a record of the modules you have completed and your quiz scores.
  • You can access your Progress Report at any time by selecting the “Progress Report” button.
